It seems to me that I have become consumed with composition
recently and have drifted away from the importance of process in my work. The
non representational nature of my images and the minimal use of visual elements
inherent to working the way I do tends to place a great deal of visual thinking
on composition. That said, the process I
go through in making images that have just a few dominant elements is quite
lengthy and can be complicated. The many
layers of paint that build each solution due to a process of action and
reaction varies greatly from piece to piece. No formula, just paint. The worst
part is watching it dry.
