It has been a minute, roughly twelve years or more since I last posted on Blogger. What has been going on? This can get a little complicated. Let me figure out how to even start. A small part of the puzzle is that I had a regular website. I did post my fine art (paintings) fairly regularly for awhile, that website no longer exist. The other pieces are that in 2017 we decided to pull anchor and move from Georgia to Colorado, ending up in Silverton. A very small town high in the San Juans of Colorado, population of around 600 in winter. I had already been in survival mode for awhile but now it really kicked in. Most all of my creative inclinations had to stop, certainly my beloved painting. I was working in a couple of gift shops and the historical society just trying to make ends meet. Then the pandemic hit and moves back and fourth across the country. As a result my computer was stolen, and most everything I had owned, I was forced to sell out of necessity. I had to give up quite a few of my favorite paintings for pennies. Very greedy people are always lurking to take advantage of the hardships of others during times of adversity. Unfortunately a very true statement of our culture especially these days. The good news is that as a result of the pandemic I started to paint again, although very small 4" x 6" mostly on paper, both oil and acrylic landscapes.
So why am I suddenly reposting now? I have barely touched upon just a few of reasons in life that affect ones choices. During this time I have worked many jobs , even on the ramp at the airport. All this said, the truth is that I need to increase my exposure to advertise my capabilities and practice. I am as always on the job hunt and hope that this exposure will lead to opportunity. Yes I had given up. Now I am climbing back. Albeit as to what seems to be on the wrong side of history. Make no mistake though, I am Resilient.
